STORY
CHILDREN OF WAR is a short feature film that aims to humanize the refugee experience and encourages understanding for those affected by war and forced displacement. The story offers insight into the Ukraine conflict, bringing attention to the realities faced by its people, particularly the women and children caught in the crossfire.
As the war rages, Ukraine's civilian population continues to bear the brunt of indiscriminate attacks and disproportionate harm in the aftermath of the 2022 Russian invasion.
This film adds attention to the conflicts that impact millions of children worldwide from Gaza to Darfur, Myanmar and Syria. Too many lives, especially those of the children, are thrust into a war machine beyond their control.
CHILDREN OF WAR is a social impact narrative that gives voice to refugees and provides an opportunity to discuss the trauma of war.
The film will engage people who have direct and indirect experiences with these issues:
-
Childhood trauma
-
Orphanhood
-
Family and parenthood
-
Autism and neurodivergence
-
Loss and separation
-
Abandonment
-
War and displacement
-
Military conscription
